ENGAGEMENT SESSION STYLE GUIDE Welcome to my style guide for your engagement session. I get asked “what should I wear” SO often! So I decided to prepare a few tips on what colors, patterns, and materials photograph well! I’ve also included some inspo tips for different styles and seasons. Enjoy! First and foremost – I want you to wear what YOU feel comfortable and beautiful in. I can definitely help with some tips on what PHOTOGRAPHS well – but keep in mind, I want you to feel confident and special on your engagement session! I always say I have three foundation “tips” and I’ll break them down below – but here’s a quick synopsis. Neutrals, Simple, Flowy, and True to YOU! Nuetrals are always a win as they allow the photos to be less “busy” and over crowded by too many colors. They’ll match your scenery instead of complicate it. Less can be more. Something really simple and without too many patterns or colors is ALWAYS a win. You’ll see a couple both in white below, and I LOVE how simple

  I’m not very hands-on with my clients prior to the session , but I am working on becoming more so . I do give them some wardrobe tips if they inquire . I try to tell them to do something casual so that it feels a little more like themselves and not like they are in a stranger’s clothes . I also have them bring something a bit dressier to shake it up a bit . I tell them to stay clear of crazy patterns and a lot of logos , if possible . I try not to dictate what they wear too much , as I want them to preserve their personal style , as well . Sometimes it’s better when they are perfectly coordinated , but that’s not how they would normally be dressed . I go for personality over perfect fashion coordination . Unlike some photographers , I don ' t have them send me photos of their outfits prior to the session ! it’s usually a surprise . I have noticed that - "pre session " outfit sharing is becoming more common , and I do think it ' s a great - idea . I may start impleme
